LIMONE

Limonaia

Tucked away in a picturesque bay, between the clear waves of Lake Garda and the imposing slopes of the surrounding mountains, lies Limone – a village that, despite its development into a popular tourist destination, has retained its original charm. The narrow streets, historic houses, and idyllic squares exude the unmistakable magic of a true Italian village.
Thanks to the mild climate, not only lemons thrive in Limone, but also olive trees and other Mediterranean plants. This lush vegetation gives Limone a touch of exoticism that enchants every visitor.

A special highlight is the historic lemon groves that have shaped Limone for centuries. The Limonaia del Castel, a lovingly maintained lemon garden, takes visitors on a journey into the fascinating history of lemon cultivation. Here, you can experience how nature and human ingenuity merge in a unique way, creating an unparalleled experience.

MALCESINE

The heart of Malcesine, on the north-eastern shore of Lake Garda, has preserved almost intact the charm of a small medieval village gathered around its castle – the Scaliger Castle, which for centuries has stood proudly on the steep cliff overlooking the lake. Winding alleys, narrow streets, and small squares lead to the old harbour and the historic Palazzo dei Capitani. Behind it rise the peaks of the imposing Monte Baldo massif; at its feet, the deep blue waters of Lake Garda, which from the castle tower can be admired in all their expanse: a unique panorama stretching from the rugged rock faces between Limone and Riva del Garda to the gentle morainic hills behind Sirmione!

“We will reach the Scaliger Castle of Malcesine by way of the town’s most hidden, labyrinthine alleys! A brief stop at the panoramic terrace, and then a drawbridge will lead us into the first of several courtyards, arranged on different levels and connected by doors and walkways. In the old barracks, we will take a look at the fascinating multimedia exhibition that will help bring to life the geological and natural history of this incredible region, with its Mediterranean climate at the foot of massifs rising over 2,000 metres! Then comes the Goethe Room, followed by the Scaliger Palace, ready to captivate you with the astonishing tale of 30 Venetian galleys hauled down from the mountains! Yes indeed… Galeas per montes conducendo. The magnificent endeavour! And to conclude, we cannot miss the climb up to the keep, standing 70 metres above the lake! Our own small but unforgettable magnificent endeavour!”
